I am legitimately fucking crying, this was so beautiful. I sincerely hope those two stay together for a long, long time.
Alright, can I just mention how powerful the animation was here? Because you see her reach for the glove and you think the worst, and when you see her face out-of-focus and try to read it, you think you’re seeing a smile, or an evil smirk that says “having that power is so great.” But when the camera focuses, it’s not. That’s far from what it is. Her expression… it’s sad. She looks like she knows what she has to do, she knows what’s right, but deep down she doesn’t want to do it because she loves her father. It’s probably the hardest decision she had ever made in her life, right here.
This short second of animation is why I don’t believe Asami is an Equalist or a traitor. You can see it in her expression that she knows what’s right.
